The City of Fulshear, Texas got a head start on celebrating Public Service Recognition Week 2025.
Knowing that some members of its HR team would be away at a conference the week of May 4, the City wanted to recognize employees at an awards luncheon, held on May 2, with around 80 employees in attendance. Catered by a local Mexican restaurant, the event also featured a mariachi bar, a mocktail bar and awards for Years of Service and Employee of the Year, Heidy Taylor, the City’s human resources director recently told PSHRA.
Fulshear Mayor Don McCoy will officially kick off the festivities on Monday, with a Public Service Week Proclamation at Fulshear’s City Council meeting. Throughout the week, Taylor said, City employees will enjoy two days of chair massages, lunch from Orleans Seafood, and breakfast tacos and parfaits, sponsored by Texana.
Taylor and the HR team have also collected raffle prizes from local partners, for daily raffle drawings. In addition, the City’s communications team has launched a weeklong social media outreach campaign “to spotlight the incredible work of our employees,” said Taylor.
“Public Service Recognition Week is a great chance for us to slow down and celebrate the people who keep things running every day for the City. Our team shows up with heart, dedication and a real commitment to serving our community,” she continued.
“This is my third year celebrating PSRW at the City of Fulshear, and every year I’m reminded how lucky we are to have such an awesome group. We take time to recognize years of service and name our Employee of the Year—it’s just one way we say thank you for all they do.”
