There are many opportunities available throughout the year. PSHRA issues a call for volunteers to all members as they arise.
The Executive Council is the governing body of PSHRA. Executive Council members are the fiduciaries who adopt a high-level strategy to steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance and financial management policies, as well as by making sure PSHRA has adequate resources to advance its mission. We are now accepting nomination applications for three positions (three-year term) on the PSHRA Executive Council. Applications have closed for 2023 and will open again in March, 2024.
PSHRA accepts nominations yearly for association president-elect. The individual is expected to serve as president the year after their term and past president in the subsequent year. This is a 3-year commitment. We are now accepting applications for PSHRA’s 2025 President. Applications have closed for 2023 and will open again in March, 2024.
The Awards Committee is responsible for evaluating the nominations for the association’s annual Honorary Life Membership, the PSHRA Agency Awards for Excellence, PSHRA Chapter Award of Excellence.
Certification Advisory Board
The advisory board is responsible for providing oversight and guidance to the PSHRA certification program. The appointment is for three years.
The committee serves as the annual conference subject matter experts, whose main responsibility will be to review session proposals and identify educational content that meets the needs of our members with current industry, technologies, and trends content.
The committee is responsible for reviewing and evaluating the applications of 1) PSHRA members for the association’s graduate study fellowships, and 2) scholarships for the children of PSHRA members seeking undergraduate degrees. The committee members make recommendations to the Executive Council of the individuals who will receive the fellowships and scholarships.
The committee reviews and evaluates PSHRA's magazine publication, advises on the direction of the editorial calendar, and develops partnerships for content.
The committee works to identify critical issues in the public sector human resources profession and identifies research opportunities to develop and promote organizational success.
