PSHRA-CP
The PSHRA-CP is intended for entry-level and mid-level public sector HR professionals, with titles such as HR assistant, recruitment specialist, HR manager, compensation and benefits analyst, and others.
To earn certification, you need to take an exam that validates your experience, knowledge and skills; preparation courses are not available for these exams.
The PSHRA-CP exam covers six domains:
- Compliance, Documentation and Policy Development in the Public Sector
- Recruitment and Selection Processes
- Classification and Compensation
- Employee and Labor Relations and Performance Management in the Public Sector
- Employee Benefits Programs and Plans.
- HR Information Systems and Data Analysis
PSHRA-SCP
The PSHRA-SCP is intended for senior-level public sector HR professionals, with titles such as senior HR manager, HR director/director of human resources, and chief human resources officer.
To earn certification, you need to take an exam that validates your experience, knowledge and skills; preparation courses are not available for these exams.
The PSHRA-SCP exam domains covers six domains:
- Public Sector Employee and Labor Relations
- Leadership, Organizational Development, and Culture
- Public Sector Talent Acquisition and HR Operations
- Public Sector Total Rewards
- Public Sector HRIS Data Analysis and Reporting
- Public Sector HR Policy Development and Strategic Planning

Certified individuals, track your recertification points through the PSHRA Certification Portal!
- Review your total points
- Submit your points that are not earned through PSHRA activities
- Note: you are required to recertify every three years
For any external trainings outside of points granted through PSHRA activities, you can access the forms to submit your points within the PSHRA Certification Portal.
