PSHRA Members Among Cities Selected for Work for America’s Talent Accelerator Program
Three PSHRA member agencies are among the 10 cities that Work for America (WFA) has selected to participate in its second Talent Accelerator workshop, Data-Driven Hiring for Cities.
From Oct. 13 through Dec. 15, 2026, the 10 agencies “will examine how their hiring data is collected, managed and used, and will leave with defined priority hiring metrics, specified data practice improvements and recommendations for leadership outlining their findings,” according to a WFA statement. The PSHRA member agencies taking part are:
- The City of Baltimore, Md.
- The City of Los Angeles, Calif.
- The City of Pompano Beach, Fla.
PSHRA also has individual members with the San Francisco Human Services Agency, which is among the 10 organizations participating in the second Talent Accelerator workshop.
The remaining cities are:
- El Paso, Texas
- Erie, Pa.
- Jackson, Tenn.
- Little Rock, Ark.
- Nashville, Tenn.
- St. Louis, Mo.
WFA’s Talent Accelerator programs are free, virtual workshops designed to help city HR and operations teams make practical, near-term improvements to their hiring systems. Selection to the cohort “recognizes each city’s commitment to investing in the systems that deliver for their communities by strengthening data-informed decision making,” according to WFA.
Based on findings from the inaugural cohort, WFA has developed a free toolkit that any government HR or operations team can use to pilot fixes that speed up hiring and improve the candidate experience. “There is no shared standard for excellent government hiring,” said Caitlin Lewis, executive director of Work for America, in a statement. “These 10 cities will use existing data to set clear hiring metrics, track their progress and take the first step toward a national baseline other cities can rally around.”
