DuPage County Provides Responsible AI Use Training for Government Workforce
DuPage County, Ill. has partnered with InnovateUS to offer no-cost, self-paced training on responsible artificial intelligence use to the county’s workforce.
Seeking to “equip county employees with the knowledge they need to use generative AI tools in their day-to-day work,” the training will supplement the county’s AI usage guidelines, according to a statement announcing the partnership.
These guidelines are designed to encourage ethical, responsible and secure use of AI technology in government activities, while complying with existing privacy and security standards, according to the statement.
Through the new partnership, the county will offer four courses focused on responsible AI use: Using GenAI in Government, Understanding Risks and Building Resilience, Designing AI Projects in Government and Implementing AI Projects in Government. DuPage County employees are required to complete the Using Generative AI at Work course before using AI technology in government initiatives and projects.
“DuPage County is dedicated to responsibly leveraging artificial intelligence to improve the services we offer our residents,” said Anthony McPhearson, chief information officer for DuPage County’s information technology department, in a statement.
“By incorporating AI into our operations, we are enhancing responsiveness, simplifying service delivery, and strengthening our core values of innovation, operational excellence and public trust.”
