North Carolina Launches Website Encouraging Federal Workers to Apply for State Jobs

North Carolina has launched a new website encouraging those displaced as a result of Hurricane Helene or recent federal workforce cuts to apply for jobs with the state.

Describing North Carolina as “a great place to live, play and work,” Gov. Josh Stein recently announced the availability of the new site, which also provides resources for servicemembers, their spouses and veterans to apply for positions within North Carolina state government.

“Public servants help make our state everything that it is, and there are many talented people looking for work right now,” said Gov. Stein, in a statement. “The state of North Carolina is proud to welcome smart and dedicated public-spirited people to join our team.”

Noting that the state is seeking “experienced professionals interested in a career in public service,” the same statement urges those affected by Hurricane Helene or recent developments in federal government to apply via the new site. Applicants will be connected with an employment recruiter from North Carolina’s Office of State Human Resources (OSHR) to help match their skills to available roles in North Carolina state government.

“If you have recently been displaced from your career of service, North Carolina encourages you to apply,” said OSHR Director Staci Meyer, in a statement. “My team at OSHR will help you find a job that matches your needs.”
