“Virginia Has Jobs” for Federal Talent

Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin recently shared details of the state’s new Federal Worker Support Resource Package, designed to support Virginians impacted by recent federal workforce developments.

A recent statement from Gov. Youngkin’s office outlined the state resources—available here—which include tips on applying for unemployment benefits, preparing for a job search and exploring opportunities to upskill or reskill.

Saying that Virginia “stands ready to help individuals prepare for and find new employment opportunities quickly and effectively,” Gov. Youngkin’s office also noted that job seekers can access Virginia Works’ suite of services along with other partner services in person through  American Job Centers in Northern Virginia and across the Commonwealth. Dedicated resource hubs are also available at the Northern and Arlington/Alexandria regions of Virginia Career Works.

The state of Virginia has also launched “Virginia Has Jobs,” a website designed to connect job seekers with opportunities available in the Commonwealth, in industries such as technology, healthcare, manufacturing and more.

“From Day One, I declared that Virginia was open for business, and we’ve worked tirelessly to deliver on that promise,” said Gov. Youngkin, in a statement. “Today, Virginia stands as the top state for business, with tremendous job opportunities across the Commonwealth. ‘Virginia Has Jobs’ is an opportunity for every Virginian—and every business—to capitalize on the thriving economy, with more than 250,000 open jobs waiting to be filled.”
