Job Description
Sonoma County Public Infrastructure is seeking to fill a Human Resources Liaison position to join their team.
Starting salary up to $51.86/hourly ($108,238/annually), and a competitive total compensation package!*
As a SoCoPi Human Resources Liaison, you will take the lead on daily oversight of recruitments, the learning management system (LMS) and the day-to-day safety-related duties, and researching/drafting policies and procedures. This position will also be trained for other HR-related functions to back up the Administrative Services Officer II (ASO II) in the HR Unit, in the areas of disability management, Department of Transportation (DOT) checks, and hiring of employees. This position will supervise up to two Administrative Aides.
Additional responsibilities of the HR Liaison position include:
- Working closely with current employees as well as management of employees on HR/Safety-related matters
- Researching and reviewing applicable State/Federal regulations, HR/Safety policies and procedures, Memoranda of Understanding, and the Salary Resolution, as necessary to assist the ASO II when responding to inquiries
- Drafting/reviewing/updating documents such as requisitions, advance step requests, emails, interview questions, department organizational chart, and policies/procedures
- Conducting training on the County’s LMS and oversight of maintaining, creating, and assigning training for SoCoPi employees
- Cross-training on Payroll, leaves of absences, and related software including HRIS/Dimensions
- Supervising employee(s) including performance management
Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will be a creative thinker who is flexible and empathetic, as well as have the following qualifications:
- HR/Safety experience is desired
- Experience with recruitment, and workplace safety oversight
- Experience researching, tracking, analyzing, and interpreting data and drafting policies and procedures and formulating recommendations
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to follow complex policies and procedures while addressing competing deadlines
- Superb customer service skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to establish credibility and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of internal and external contacts across all levels of an organization
- Knowledge of database systems and proficient skills in the Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat DC
